Movies: The Gambler (15), Ex Machina (15), Kingsman: The Secret Service (15) & Conan the Barbarian (2011) (DVD – 15)

The Gambler (15) – what’s it about? Jim a university teacher with a gambling problem who owes money to numerous loan sharks – can he pay them back before things get too rough.

This is interesting and reminded me why I don’t gamble…it’s an good story but it’s pretty damn depressing – make sure you have time to watch something cheery afterwards!

Ex Machina (15) – what’s it about? A genius secretly creates an AI – he calls in an employee to assess the AI and how successful his project has become.

This is a really interesting movie – great story and makes you kinda think a bit and you know this is gonna happen one day – and it’s bad idea that’s all I’ll say!

Kingsman: The Secret Service (15) – what’s it about? After the death of an agent, a veteran agent takes on a young apprentice.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this one – it could have gone either way but it was absolutely brilliant! Good story, lots of humour and action – a great spy-mock film. The best film of the year so far and yes it’s only January I know but go watch it!

Conan the Barbarian (2011) (DVD – 15) – what’s it about? Young Conan witnesses the death of his father, grows up and becomes a warrior – can he stop an evil lord from taking over…

This is not a remake it’s different than the Arnie movie…it’s a great movie with lots of action and stuff – gotta love that Jason Mamoa!
